What we do in this class:
Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about!
STARSkate* offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a online group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Skaters who have mastered figure skating skills in STARSkate may also choose to pursue synchronized skating or pairs skating.
Skaters must hire a private lesson coach for at least one 15 minute private lesson per week. Please contact a coach directly to make arrangements. Independent skating for the whole session.
Available during all skating seasons.
StarElite* (by coach invitation only) – offers skaters a unique experience by introducing concepts of individualized and focused practice time. Skaters will ease through the transition from group lessons to private instruction. The specific focus for this session is on the STAR 1+ test and competition levels.
Skaters are highly encouraged to hire a private lesson coach for at least one 15 minute lesson per week. Please contact a coach directly to make arrangements. Skaters will receive a 30 minute group lesson and they will have 30 minutes of independent practice time.
